Eagle Cash/Eagle Bucks

EAGLE CASH/EAGLE BUCKS

The Scott High School Administration has implemented and sustain a school wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support System (PBIS). PBIS is a decision making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students. We have created a Student Voice committee that will strive to promote a healthy school climate and effective school leadership that involves families, schools, and the local community. The mission for the Scott High School Student Voice Committee is to increase student’s quality of life and decrease their problem behaviors by teaching new skills and making changes in their environment. The Student Voice Committee will meet monthly to look at discipline data to determine priority areas and possible solutions for Scott’s discipline issues. We currently utilize our “Eagle Cash” reward system to recognize positive behavior during the entire school day which includes our hallways, buses and cafeteria during lunch. Our rewards are sponsored by our Eagle Club. This organization provides the funds necessary to offer the items that are relevant to teenage students.

Recognition of Positive Behavior
Four years ago, Scott introduced "Eagle Cash".  The program was entirely designed to recognize and reward all that meet and exceed the behavior expectations set forth by the school.  Teachers are provided with cards that say Eagle Cash that are given to students for demonstrating positive behavior.  The students then have the opportunity to cash in the cards every other Friday at the "Eagle Store".  The Eagle store provides numerous items like spirit wear, extra credit, and awesome giveaways that are gracious Eagle Club provides for our students.  This is the 2nd year we introduced "Eagle Bucks" that will give teachers another avenue to recognize those students that go above and beyond in regards to Positive Behavior. Eagle Bucks will be given to students and they will scratch off the center revealing a reward that came from student ideas that range from a Positive Phone call home, to Eating lunch with a teacher to an IPAD Mini and a Big Screen TV.  All provided by our wonderful Eagle Club.

Over the past three years we have seen our Eagle Store return an average of 1600 Eagle Cash cards every two weeks.
